no more grey days
“no more grey days.” is a mock campaign that I developed collaboratively with Radhika Koyawala and Maggie Kohlhas, with the intent of sparking interest in the Phipps Conservatory within Pittsburgh locals.
We chose to promote the vibrancy and liveliness of Phipps during the cold, colorless Pittsburgh winter through collectible stamps. By hosting a fun, creative event, our goal was to have people return for a second trip.
To promote the events, we decided to put stylized illustrations on buildings , billboards, and other public objects with minimal branding. These viral, colorful urban decorations would reference one of the nine themed rooms in Phipps, and would inspire the viewer to find out more about our campaign. The murals would be placed strategically around the city in a way that they project the map of Phipps onto Pittsburgh itself.
When the visitor buys their ticket, they receive a folder with a piece of paper and an information sheet that doubles as a map of where the murals are located around Pittsburgh. Throughout the conservatory, cases filled with stamps are hidden. The stamps can be brought to the main hall and used to create a colorful poster. The stamps can be placed into bins to be recycled by the conservatory for later use once the visitor is done.
